Vice-Chancellor for Administration and finance & Student Affairs

Amy Davis  is the Vice-Chancellor for Administration and finance/Student Affairs. She has written for The New York Times, and has written or co-created five books. Her latest is a revised, expanded, and re-subtitled edition of her bestseller, The Genius in a bottle: Using Writing to Generate Your Best Ideas, Insight, and Content. Amy has a Ph.D in Education.

 

Her job is to Plan and implements academic affairs projects at district and national levels; plans and directs the general operation of the division; assesses needs, develops operational and capital plans and determines procedures for academic affairs, workforce development, healthcare, teacher education, advanced technology, small business development, curriculum development, faculty development, international/intercultural education, and transfer/articulation. Facilitates development and enhancement of innovative projects and initiatives to secure grant funding. Represents the Vice Chancellor to a variety of educational, business, professional, and Governing Board groups including local, national and regional development efforts and special interest groups; participates as a member of a variety of internal and external committees, leads task forces and organizations relevant to District interests; develops new programs; provides fact finding and troubleshooting activities in areas of special interest for Vice Chancellor; monitors governmental and community affairs of interest to District and relays information to Vice Chancellor; writes speeches and research papers, proposals, programs, and material for the Vice Chancellor or for public dissemination; prepares printed and electronic materials; performs special projects as assigned by Vice Chancellor; plans, prepares and administers division budget; supervises and evaluates managers and staff; manages complex personnel situations; performs related duties as assigned.
